Assessment from space of mangroves evolution in the Mekong Delta, in relation to extensive shrimp farming ArchiMer

This study is an attempt to produce an assessment of the impact of shrimp aquaculture in the Mekong Delta (Viet Nam) on mangrove ecosystems. For this exercise we selected two sub-areas (Ca Mau and Tra Vinh provinces) encompassing a variety of land uses and ecological conditions. Twenty stations in Tra Vinh and 15 stations in Ca Mau have been surveyed several times from September 2000 to March 2002. Field investigations included mangrove soils studies, measurements of pH and salinity of the water, analysis of mangrove flora, and density and structure of the vegetation. O objetivo principal do estudo foi analisar a evolução do cultivo de tilápia no Brasil desde a sua origem até o presente momento, destacando os fatores limitantes e também os fatores favoráveis que contribuíram para a rápida expansão da atividade nos últimos anos. Os dados utilizados na pesquisa foram de origem primária e secundária. SHORT-TERM VARIATION OF BACTERIAL COMMUNITIES CONCENTRATION AND ACTIVITY IN AQUACULTURE ECOSYSTEMS. Two kinds of short-term experiments were carried out on sea-water bacterial commun­ities of shrimp aquaculture in Polynesia at the Centre Océanologique du Pacifique (Tahiti). A 12 m3 sea-water tank was considered. The total number (AOC) and hétérotrophie activity of bacteria were studied during a 48 hours experiment with a 2 hours sampling time The total bacterial community was about 10? bacteria, and nitrifying bacteria were about 10 bacteria ml-1 and could showed doubling time of 7 hours. Fécondités individuelle et par recrue du homard européen Homarus gammarus (L.) des cotes françaises ArchiMer

Several relationships between the fecundity and the weight or the size of females have been studied for three different (based on "eye-index") stages of incubation. The relationship between the average weight of eggs at the beginning of incubation and the size of the females shows that the egg size varies according to the female's size. Loss of eggs during incubation has been studied ; the average loss between the two extreme stages of incubation is around 27%. This is a lowered value of what accurs during the whole incubation period. Egg losses are greater for small females than for big females. The annual frequency of spawning and size at first maturity have been determined in for differents fishing effort than by the commercial size.

The aquiculture é a important brazilian supply chain, and is coming remarkable at the international markets. However, still causes environmental impacts and risks to the public health from technical and sanitary failures that can be seen along the complete supply chain. On this review, will be addressed important themes related to aquiculture and the interfaces on the environmental and public heath preservation, covering important zoonoses that are coming emergents and other aspects like the resistence to antibiotics arisingfrom the inappropriate use by the producers.

Industrial processing o ffishes, shrimps, mussles and oysters in a cooperative system MV&Z

The objective of this study was to create new products using fish residues as well as to reduce environmental pollution, thus preventing the waste of nutrients, reduction of costs involved in the animal feed production chain and in organic agriculture, to be indirectly used as human food. With added value and increased food safety, these new products can be used as supplements for traditional fish meals, resulting in an immediate reduction in the importation of this ingredient essential for agribusiness. Results showed that the resulting organic meals have low production cost and high biological value regarding essential amino acids, fatty acids, minerals and vitamins, providing an alternative to solve the environment problem related to fish residues.

Mortalité du tourteau Cancer pagurus provoquée par le dinoflagelle parasite : Hematodinium sp. ArchiMer

Unusural crab mortality in winter led us to identify a Hematodinium like parasitic dinoflagellate in the blood of edible crabs Cancer pagurus. Crabs from several fishing areas (the English Channel, the Iroise sea, the bay of Biscay, off Scotland) and from one area of the Channel shore were examined. The crab parasit was found everywhere we investigated and throughout the year. The prevalence which was found independant of the intermolt stage, sex and size of crabs was higher inshore than offshore. The pathogenicity is assumed to differ according to season.

La production française de tourteaux provient pour l'essentiel des captures réalisées en Manche et dans le Golfe de Gascogne ; l'appréhension des caractéristiques de croissance pour cette ressource est une contribution nécessaire à l'aménagement de l'exploitation des pêcheries concernées. Des expériences de marquage-recapture effectuées de 1981 à 1984 sur les populations des deux bassins permettent une approche de la croissance de Cancer pagurus pour les deux zones concernées.

ABSTRACT Occurrence of Dendrocephalus brasiliensis Pesta, 1921 (Crustacea, Anostraca) in the Caras river, southern Ceara, Brazil. The specimens were collected in March and April 2014. The new occurrence extends the distribution and update area of occupancy of the species, which is characterized by a specific habitat: temporary lakes.

Recirculation of the water of fish rearing systems requires a biological treatment based on the nitrifying activity of autotrophic bacteria. In parallel heterotrophic bacterial populations utilise the organic substrate, produced by the fish, to grow. Opposite to the autotrophic populations, the heterotrophic bacteria (1) have a quick growth and (2) might contain fish pathogenic strains. Представлены результаты анализа статистических данных об объёмах мирового вылова и искусственного воспроизводства водных живых ресурсов в 20-м – начале 21 веков. Особое внимание уделяется последним 10 – 15 годам. Подчёркивается, что с середины 90-х годов по настоящее время ежегодный прирост объёмов производства гидробионтов происходит исключительно за счёт аквакультуры. В 2004 г. уровень потребления водных организмов животного и растительного происхождения достиг 155.8 млн. т, из которых 38.1 % приходится на долю аквакультуры.
